Hello,
I finally got my first job- at Boots of all places!
After using the good old internet for many tips for my application/interview I thought I would do a post to help people and share my experience.
Online Assessment
If you are successful with your application, you get emailed an online assessment to complete. I had never gotten to this stage before so I had no idea what the "right" answers were. The questions are situation based and ask the standard "How would you deal with an angry customer?" and "How would you describe yourself?" - you have to choose the most like you and least like you out of the options. My only tip with this would be to think when you have been into boots (or similar) before and how you were treated. Boots are all about customer care so make sure you stress this aspect of you.The Interview
This was my first ever interview so as you can imagine I was extremely nervous, however my interviewer was incredibly lovely and put me at ease straight away. The interview consisted of 2 parts: The Interview and the Floor Exercises. The interview was fairly relaxed; she checked my availability, asked me a 'time when I had helped someone without them asking me' and asked me to describe a 'time I had worked in a team'. As I had never had a job before she said I could relate it to an appropriate school or social situation.
Then she took me down to the shop floor and asked me to describe a nervous customer (looking around/ picking things up and putting them back) and a confident customer (walks straight in/goes straight to the right aisle/picks up product and pays) and then she asked me to improve an aisle - I tidied/ brought products to the front.
She then thanked me for coming and said I'd hear back soon. A week later she rang and offered me a job- I start next month, literally so excited!!
Hope everything's going well for you,
Good Luck!
Lauren
